Abbey National lawyer/debt collector Eversheds wrote this letter to a repossessee it was chasing for a shortfall. At about the same time in October 2000, Abbey promised full disclosure of evidence for its repossession shortfall claims and Eversheds never sent this letter.
The customer got hold of it the second time they served a Data Protection Act Subject Access Rights Notice on Abbey National.
It suggests that Abbey's unspoken policy had been to obstruct repossessee's efforts to examine the shortfall claims Abbey National claimed against them.
