----< Customer web-site >-----------------------
A former Abbey National customer has put his
repossession tale up on the web. He's included
letters showing how Abbey National and its
lawyers "deal" with customers.
If you take it at face value, his story of how he took out the mortgage is also interesting.
I think that to many people, the mortgage selling procedure here looks unlikely. But I can vouch for the fact that mortgages are still sold the same way. My bank manager was pushing mortgages at me in a similar way just over a year ago. He knew I was self-employed and knew I was a repossessee but neither of these were obstacles.
That's good news. What's bad news is that my protestations that I did not want a mortgage did not stop the selling spiel. It's interesting to find someone else who seems to have found mortgages being sold with the same enthusiasm.
