When lenders chase you after repossession they often claim (if you badger them enough) that repairs necessary to the property reduced the price they could sell it for. We have evidence that they overestimate the effect of repairs. They call this "making a commercial decision". They also know that it is difficult to stand it up in court because it makes them look careless in front of the judge. If you can show that they over-estimated the effect of repairs you may well be able to stop them in their tracks.
