CIFAS complaint: "The CIFAS office does not hold data on consumers to which there is a right of subject access under the Data Protection legislation. The main CIFAS database is held by the UK's Credit Reference Agencies. Serving a subject access request on the CIFAS office is therefore a waste of money, time and effort."
Our response: On the day that CIFAS director
(censored due to CIFAS's legal threats) wrote this complaint to us (24 June 1999), CIFAS had registered the following types of data with the Data Protection Registrar: (Data purposes 3 and 4 are particularly interesting).
